Dallas ISD, the school system for the Dallas area, has said teachers cannot downgrade late papers, must allow failing tests to be retaken, and drop any homework grades that bring down a student’s in class average.

This could be why our students sometimes expect us to give them their grades. It is apparently what happened in high school.
